ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
The Director Nomination Period for the 2026 AGM will OPEN on Wednesday, February 18, 2026.
Meota Gas Co-operative Association Limited (Meota) will be holding their 2026 AGM on:
Wednesday, April 15, 2026.
The Board of Directors is pleased to announce that the 2026 Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Meota Gas Co-operative Association Limited is scheduled for Wednesday, April 15, 2026.
Formal Notice along with the meeting material package for the 2026 AGM will be sent to those members interested (by request) by electronic means (email) or via Canada Post (if requested) in early April.
Nominations for election to the Board of Directors will open on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, in accordance with the requirements set forth in the By-Laws. Also accordingly, nominations close at 4:00 pm on Friday, March 20, 2026.
For the 2026 AGM, a total of two (2) Director positions are up for re-election to a three-year term based on the cycle of rotating three-year terms.
Directors Alex Hardie and Chris Jones, both elected in 2025, are standing for re-election. These can be contested by any duly nominated member in good standing.

For your reference, here are the By-Law provisions that may assist interested members:
Eligibility
10 (5) A member is eligible to be nominated for election as a director if:
-
The member is “in good standing”.
-
The member is not an employee of the Association or an employee of a company under contract to the Association.
-
The member’s spouse or common–law partner is not a permanent employee or director of the Association.
-
The member or the member’s spouse or common–law partner is not a director, officer or employee of other institutions or businesses that are engaged in activities similar to the activities of the Association.
The member is in agreement with and is prepared to sign a commitment letter to adhere to the Director’s Handbook for Rural Gas Utilities and sign and adhere to the Association’s Code of Ethics and Conflict of Interest Policies for Board Members.
Nomination Procedure
(6) The procedure for Board nominations will be as follows:

Nomination packages will be available 60 days prior to the Association’s Annual General Meeting.

Nomination papers must be returned to the Association’s office 30 days prior to the Association’s Annual General Meeting.

Nomination papers must be signed by five (5) members in good standing.

The Nominating Committee of the Board review all nominations to determine if a proposed nominee is a member in good standing and contact the candidates to ensure their information is correct and sufficient for sharing with its members.
(7) The names and background material for each nominee together with a candidates’ summary will be sent to interested members of the Association with meeting materials prior to the Association’s Annual General Meeting.
Nomination papers with supporting documents must be returned to Meota’s office by 4:00 pm, Friday March, 20, 2026. It is recommended that candidates type their nomination information as it will be distributed in the AGM package to the members.
Nomination forms are available for download from Meota’s website at meotagas.com together with accompanying information sheets and directions for completion.
Please take the opportunity to also review the by-laws, governance procedures and requirements in effect that govern the operation and the responsibilities of Directors, when considering submission of nomination papers.
The Board and the Management of Meota Gas are more than happy to assist interested members with these processes.
